Retreat Center: Villa Sumaya

Villa Sumaya is a retreat and wellness center located in Santa Cruz la Laguna, Lake Atitlán, Guatemala. In Sanskrit, Sumaya means a long-awaited dream come true, while in Arabic it translates as a little piece of paradise. Both of these definitions capture the essence and spirit of what Villa Sumaya represents.

Villa Sumaya has a gorgeous property overlooking Lake Atitlán with an onsite restaurant and cafe, outdoor pool, spa center, and many pockets of natural spaces around the property to enjoy the sounds of nature. We will practice in the cozy Tara Temple studio and the Diamond Dojo with a front row view of the lake. Villa Sumaya has many accommodations options, each room with its own unique flair, a private bathroom, and private balcony.

  • Shelly and Lesley's retreats are always a life-changing adventure! Not only do I see another part of the world and have a meaningful yoga/fitness experience, but at both retreats, I have met lifelong friends. The retreat participants that Shelly and Lesley gather are truly unique and their ability to maintain the high frequency throughout each group demonstrates that they are true professionals! It goes beyond a retreat experience - there's plenty of time to rest, restore, and reflect, but alongside inspiring individuals who are pushing themselves to be their best. I love these retreats!
